Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, the establishment of the Bank is closed for festival holidays and public holidays. During normal working days, contract security guards attend duty inside the Bank premises standing near the cash counter. However, contractors insist that security guards reporting for duty stand outside the closed establishments with no work. It is ok to demand of the Bank and contractor that security guards should also be exempted from reporting for duty when the establishment is closed. No guard is posted round the clock nor on Sundays which is a weekly rest day. Please advise.
