Dear All,

Can someone tell me how to generate ECR file for more than one thousand employees to submit the PF challan? Is there any shortcut method instead of doing data entry for wages of each employee? Please help me regarding this as there are a few days remaining for the challan submission.

It is not easy to educate about the generation of ECR file for EPF. You have to consult a consultant or nearby PF office for guidance. There is no shortcut method.

Yes, you can generate an ECR file in a very simple and easy way through eReturn. You can import data from your Excel CSV file (import data structure given in eReturn). Additionally, you can create your own Excel file and convert it to a text file for ECR upload without using eReturn.

There are methods, but at least you have to enter basic wages of each employee in that too.

If you are using a payroll software, then it is very easy to generate a .csv Excel file, which can be uploaded in the e-return software.

Dear Sir,

It is very easy to generate an ECR file if you have the following details:

1. PF number of the member
2. Name of the member
3. PF salary
4. Working days/NCP days

In addition to the above, for new members, Father/Husband Name, Date of Birth, Date of joining are required. For the left members, Date of Leaving is required.

Thank you,

First of all, you may register in Employer E-Sewa. If already registered, log in to E-Sewa. There is an option to download on the homepage. You can download the ECR instructions from there. That would help you generate the ECR file.

Dear Starlet,

I am familiar with the entire procedure; the only difference is that in my previous company, I had to do it for approximately 50 employees. Now, in my new workplace, the employee strength is in thousands.

Thanks for your response.
