I. GENERAL
The Company provides incentive methods, in addition to regular salary reviews, to encourage employees or groups of employees who demonstrate outstanding performance in emergent cases, arduous tasks, or significant improvements in production or business operations.
II. MERIT SYSTEM
The merit system applies to all employees to recognize excellent conduct or outstanding work performance. There are two levels in the merit system: Merit and Major Merit. Three Merits constitute one Major Merit, and three Major Merits lead to a special bonus for the employee or group of employees.
III. RECOMMENDATION
A recommendation report should be submitted by the Department Manager, who will describe the incident, occasion, or project, detailing the facts and the benefits to the Company resulting from the outstanding performance.
IV. REVIEW OF RECOMMENDATION
The recommendation will be sent through formal channels to the Personnel Committee for review. The General Manager will make the final decision regarding the degree of merit or the amount of the special bonus.
V. PAYMENT AND RECORD
The HR Department will oversee the procedure for special bonus payment, including an appreciation letter signed by the General Manager. The General Manager will personally present the bonus letter to the employee or group of employees. A copy of the appreciation letter along with the recommendation report will be placed in the individual's personal file for record-keeping. The amount of the special bonus may vary but is generally limited to a maximum of one month's wage or salary.
