This is Taniya. I am a silent member of Citehr. I have 2 years of experience in HR (generalist as well as end-to-end recruitment). I am planning to do a Part-Time MBA from ICFAI. Can anyone give their suggestions as to whether I should go for ICFAI or some other institute? I would like to ask those professionals who have done their MBA from ICFAI. I would like to hear your views about the Institute.

For Regular Programme, Icfai is a good institute. However, for Distance Education, Symbiosis is the best institute. Be clear when opting for a specialization. My advice is to choose Industrial Relations (IR) and Labour Laws if you are interested in working in the manufacturing or service sector. Otherwise, you can opt for strategic HR. This is my kind advice.

Hello, Ms. Sharma.
Your question is incomplete.
1. You have not mentioned what type of course you would opt for at ICFAI (Regular or Correspondence).
2. You have not mentioned what specialization you are interested in.
My suggestion to you: if you are opting for the Correspondence course, analyze these points and then choose.
1. How much time can you devote to your studies, as the course books provided by ICFAI are challenging, and to pass, you have to go through every line carefully.
2. Are any of your friends also joining you? Because at a certain point, you may feel the need for someone to discuss with.
Thank you.

Thank you for responding to my query.
I would like to share more about myself. I live in Mumbai (Vasai) and work in Kandivali. I am interested in pursuing a part-time MBA specializing in HR. Additionally, I am dedicated to my studies, and the ICFAI college, where lectures are conducted, is just a 2-minute walk from my home. Moreover, I have Saturdays off on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th of the month, making it convenient for me to attend classes. I am highly committed to my career and willing to put in the effort to excel. I seek your guidance, dear friends, as I am at the initial stage of my career and want to make informed decisions.

Hi Taniya,
I am a student of ICFAI - MBA HR course, and I have all Saturdays and Sundays off. Despite this, it is very difficult to complete this MBA course as the syllabus is vast and extensive. Even though the specialization is HR, the basic papers in groups A, B, C, D, and E are extensive; the questions are based on real-time experience. A person who is at the start of their career would not be handling Accounts, Stats, everything in detail at work. Although there are study centers available after groups A, B, and C, there needs to be a minimum of 15 students opting for the study center facility for lectures to be arranged. Clearing groups A, B, and C would be relatively easy, but the following groups are challenging. Probably, if you can dedicate almost 10 hours a week, you can complete this course.
When I joined, 60 students applied for this course, and now only two have completed it; the rest of the students have quit and completed MBA from other reputed universities.
My advice is to please think 100 times before you join the ICFAI course...

Hi, I agree with shree Dhanya. You need to think 100 times before you join ICFAI. Its very tough to get thru. I am very bad victim of it. I suggest it would be better if you opt for symbiosis. Satish
