Hello friends,
I am newly appointed as a HR Manager for private university. I need to implement policy as this department is new for this Institute. Can anybody help me out to give clear guideline what policy or step should i need to do? They have already Admin department they are doing all process of filing etc. How can i show my efficiency to implement some new formula. They have already PF, gratuity,maternity leave etc.

Designing your HR processes is the first step you need to take (given that you have a strategy/structure/job titles/grading in place). Then you can go ahead and run a historical background check on the company history inside by meeting with other department heads and validating all what has been set by referring to your data.
Once the above data is gathered, validated and analysed; you made a general idea of what the practice involved and what employee rights/obligations have been established/owned over time.
You can then start linking above to your grading and differentiate between core and support areas in your business across all your policy chapters.
