Hi all,
Am new to this cite,i just want to share what i know about head hunting.
there r two kinds of jobseekers in the market one is active jobseeker nd the other is passive jobseeker.
active jobseekers in the sense the people who can readily available for us like fresh graduates, but passive jobseekers they will retain with the firm itself, attracting such passive jobseekers is very tough.the process of making passive jobseekers into active jobseekers is called head hunting.

Hi ,
I would like to share my knowledge on Head Hunting
Only consultancy can perform HEADHUNTING for its clients. Head hunting is all about to fulfill your client's employee requirement by offering him a good employee from its competiror's firm. Head hunting is basically used to reach those people who do not post their resume on job portal beacause of few reasons like May be an employee is scared of being caught by his or her present employer or may be an employee can not go through a long process of posting his/her resume on job portal or There is also be possibility that employee is satisfied with his/her present job

To do headhunting, one requires lot of presence of mind and good convincing power. To reach that particular employee or position for which you are client has a requirement, head hunter has to use many excuses, as these is the only way of not being caught by the competetor's firm. But now a days even firms are taking steps to avoid head hunters activity, as it is great loss to them when employee leave them to join some other firm.

In my personal opinion, I think Head Hunting is not business ethic. As if you head hunt some other firm by using excuses to map that particular employee which you are looking for, so it may be possible that someother firm will head hunt your employees too. It would just go on and on. It will only increase attrition in your firm.

please do comment on my view

Hi, You need to take utmost care while headhunting as companies are adopting "Cooptetion". IT companies have a "No Poach" agreements between them. Regards, Bhupesh

You are correct Shabz . Head Hunting is not a business ethic. But you are not sure that if you do not do it with others , others will also stop doing it with you.
Head hunting can be done in quite ethical way. You develop some personal relations with few key candidates in various companies. These people will help you out by providing "active" candidates from their companies which are not registered on portals or perhaps the portals which you are using.
This works out very smoothly and without breaking any ethical values at all.
Neela . . you are also correct. A passive member can be converted to active one if you have good listening ability. You should also be a good counselor. Isn't it ?

yeah under this method..through close contacts with employees from other co, they find out the best person to fill an position in a co.
ex- there is a mktg manager post vacant , u need a person who is proficient in that field.
So through some contracts in another co, one finds out who is most eligible person for that position. Then they approach him.
Most done for High level jobs..

Hey nowdays headhunting generally means finding the candidate whose detail is not available wid you. For eg if a company needs Marketing Manager from one of their competitor and his details are not available so the placement agency starts calling people from the target company and try to get the number of the concerned person from someone who is working in dat paricular company.....it might seem to be a long process but it pays off......

Headhunting doesn't only means poaching candidates from competitors but sometimes there are some imaginary positions as well wherein consultant has to research. He has to think..think and very reasonably pull the person from another organization who would be a fit for the requirement.
Headhunting is a process of shooting your search in such a manner that the arrow hits the right person. It may be from the competitor or might be completely from a different organization.
Thanks

Hi All,
I want to share the process of Head Hunting.
For example, if we want to recruit the person for testing, just we have to note down all the companies who r into testing. after that, we have to know the company's contact number.we have to call generally to that company, and we can take general names eg: srinu/laxmi,etc.. so we can ask them to connect to that particular person.they'll do. after that u have to introduce yourself to that person generally & after that you can discuss the requirement & plus points.if he is interested, we can go ahead.otherwise we can take their colleagues numbers and we can contact.this is the general procedure..
Thank You.
