Hi Praveen,
Regarding payroll:
Payroll is the salary processing system. It can be viewed from two perspectives - one from the HR side and the other from the commercial side. HR personnel process payroll by providing attendance details or, more precisely, Leave Without Pay (LWP) details, and other complete information regarding an employee's earnings for a particular month.
Upon receiving these details, the commercial team begins entering data into the payroll software, initiating the salary processing.
During salary processing for a specific month, HR staff furnish comprehensive LWP details to the commercial department.
When calculating LWP, we create an attendance sheet inclusive of weekly offs. Apart from weekly offs, we assess an employee's absenteeism and cross-reference it with leave applications to determine the leave taken. If an employee has submitted an approved leave application and has sufficient leave balance, they are marked on leave.
However, if an employee fails to submit a leave application or lacks sufficient leave balance, they will be considered absent for that day, leading to a deduction in their salary.
Moreover, if there is a provision for providing extra salary for a specific day on attendance, we calculate the additional day's salary for employees who were present on that day.
I trust this explanation clarifies the process for you.
Regards,
Amit Seth.

Hi Amit,
I have completed MBA (HR) and am looking for HR generalist jobs, but I have no experience in this field. I have only one year of experience in HR recruitment. I am considering doing a practical training course offered by AJAX. Should I pursue this course, and will it help me secure a HR generalist job, or should I opt for SAP HR? Please advise. If there are any other courses you recommend, please let me know.
Thank you.
