I thnk Dataquest has released a salary survey this month, you may want to check that up. You may not receive a desired response to competitive information in a forum.

Hi Sukanya,
Thankf for the question.
Usually an embedded engineer will be drawing 3.5 to 5.5 L/A consider the factor that the candidate is from chennai and 3+ yrs. But we can find the candidate drawing in the of range of 2.20 to 3.5 L/A who has solid 3+yrs exp. Coming to expectation part he may expect atlease 25% hike as per the industry standards. Please let me know shall i help you in any matter.

Hi Sukanya
not aware of embedded system engineer compensation details
But a normal mainframe guys commence as follows (Per Annum CTC)
Exp Level Min Ave Max Desig Level
Entry Level 200000 225000 250000 Fresher - Software Associate
1-2 Exp 300000 335000 400000 Software associate - Consultant
2-3 Exp 400000 520000 600000 Consultant Level 1-3
Also this increment or Compensation category is differs from company to company. But a mainframe professional gets almost min 20% increment on their CTC.
As mentioned by Rajnish, dataquest also posted a article on compensation, let me know if u required any more info about compensation analysis.

Hi Sukanya,
An embedded systems engineer with 3yrs of relevant experience could take home anything between 4-6 Lacs and a max of 7 Lacs if he has worked on some niche technology. Hike/yr is again dependent on a few factors... however the general trend in B'lore (guess even elsewhere) has been in the range of 20% - 45%.
