Dear,

We have initiated an Employee of the Month Program for our employees to keep them motivated and to reward their performance. We have developed guidelines and an evaluation form to rate their performance on different criteria. However, I want to know how we can make the program impartial and unbiased to avoid demotivating the eligible employees for the award. Also, please let me know who can nominate employees for the program.

Thanks in advance,

you can make an online points system to the performance of the employee which can evaluated by the seniors and also the HODs so that the biasing can be reduced.

There is no way of making the appraisal unbiased. The only thing that can be done is to reduce the chances of bias. One way to achieve this is by implementing an appraisal system based on percentiles. This system should be exercised on a one-to-one basis with marks assigned to all the variables of productivity, along with standard targets set.

Thanks and regards,
