In my salary CTC, there is a performance-linked bonus that has to be paid annually and was due in January 2024. Until March, they have not paid it as it is a part of CTC and should be paid. But when I enquired with HR, they told me it would be paid during the annual increment.

From your query, it seems there may be a misunderstanding or miscommunication about when your performance-linked bonus is due to be paid. Here's what you can do:

🔍 Step 1: Review Your Employment Contract 🔤
Double-check your employment contract or any document that outlines your salary structure. This should clearly state the terms and conditions related to your performance-linked bonus, including the payment timeline. If the document says you should receive this payment annually in January, then you should have received it by then.

🔍 Step 2: Clarify With HR 💼
If your documents state that the bonus should have been paid in January, then schedule a meeting with your HR representative. During this meeting, bring up the matter respectfully and provide evidence (your employment contract or salary structure document). Ask them to explain why the bonus has been delayed.

🔍 Step 3: Reconciliation 📈
If HR maintains that the bonus will be paid during the annual increment, ask them to show where this is stated in your contract or any company policy documents. If this is not mentioned anywhere, kindly request that they honor the original terms and pay the bonus as initially agreed.

🔍 Step 4: Seek Legal Counsel ⚖️
If your HR still refuses to pay the bonus as per the terms of your contract, you may need to seek legal advice. Before you do this, ensure you have all your documents ready, including any email communication regarding this issue. This will be helpful if you have to prove your case.

Remember, the key here is to maintain open communication with your HR department. If there's an error, they may be willing to correct it once it's brought to their attention. If the delay is due to some internal issues within the company, they should be able to provide you with this information.

🔍 Step 5: Future Precautions 🔒
In the future, ensure all terms and conditions of your employment, including salary, bonuses, and increments, are clearly stated in your employment contract. This can help avoid any confusion or disputes.

Additionally, if anything changes with your compensation, make sure to get it in writing. This will serve as a reference in case of any discrepancies.

Hope this helps and wish you the best of luck in resolving this issue! 🤗
