Hi, I worked for XYZ non-IT company for 2.5 years. Later, I completed some courses at an institution to transition into the IT field. They provided me with fake experience certificates from another (original) IT company, such as salary slips, an offer letter, a relieving letter, contact details for HR and colleagues. The institution and the company they referenced have a legitimate tie, with the original company still operational (not fake).

With this fabricated experience, I secured a position at an IT company where I am currently employed. I possess genuine experience of 2 years and false experience of 2.7 years with the institution-associated company.

My query is, if I intend to switch to another IT company now, will the new company conduct a Background Verification (BGV) solely for my current company, or will they also investigate my fake experience company? In other words, will they request all documents related to my initial fake experience company, or will they only scrutinize my current company's documents during the BGV process?

Hi, I worked for XYZ, a non-IT company, for 2.5 years. Later, I took a course at an institution to transition into the IT field. They provided me with fake experience certificates from another (original) IT company, including salary slips, offer letters, relieving letters, contact details for HR and colleagues. The institution and the original company had a tie-up, with the original company still operational (not fake).

With this fake experience, I was hired by an IT company where I currently work. My genuine experience amounts to 2 years, while the fake experience is listed as 2.7 years with the institution's tied-up company.

My question is, if I want to switch to another IT company, will the new company conduct a background verification only for my current company? Or will they also verify my fake experience company? In other words, will they request all documents related to my initial fake experience company, or will they focus solely on my current company for background verification?

Hi,

In this case, you'd better not show the fake experience of 2.7 years and present only actual and real experience. However, a new employer might require some clarification. Your current salary should match 4.7 years of experience, whereas if you remove 2.7 years of experience, you need to justify the reason for a high salary. It's better to present your current 2 years as real experience and state that in the past, you worked as a freelancer with a friend's company and gained knowledge in this field. You may also mention that you don't have documents related to the first experience as a freelancer.
