Dear all,
Please help to advise on the below scenario we are facing with an employee. The employee is on probation and has forged that he tested COVID positive with a medical report from the lab, which when we verified with the lab we found out. What should be the next step to be taken against this employee? He is requesting paid leave citing the COVID reason for his 2 weeks' absence. Please advise.

Hi,
The act of forging a COVID report is a serious misconduct and warrants severe punishment, including termination of employment. Issue him a show cause notice as to why his services should not be terminated for his act of forging the COVID report. Get an explanation formally and then proceed with termination. Such employees might go to any extent and might misuse any company-related assets as well.
