Dear All,
Got to know about forklift licence from this site. Ours is a manufacturing company under factory act in Maharashtra. We are using forklift but have never taken licence for the driver (but he is well trained for operating the vehicle). Now we will be complying with the same but my query is:
a) Do we need to register forklift (diesel operated). If yes then under which clause.
b) Since we were operating without driver licence should we have to pay any penalty.
If yes then where can I find the clause and details. (there was no accidents occurred during this time)
c) Is there anything else that we need to be taken care of.
Thanks in advance.

Good Information, when contacted RTO Bangalore, they expressed if you not bringing the vehicle to road and if it is not registered under MV act, then driving licence for the same is not required.

There is no special licence for fork lift drivers. However he/ she should have regualr HCV/ LCV driving licence from the RTO in which there will be a separate endorsemnt on driving a) in valid carriages b) Fork lift and off road vehicles c) Special purpose vehicles. Hence get your fork lift driver with a regualr ldriving licence with the endorsement. read more at: https://www.citehr.com/278349-forkli...s-license.html
