Which new law about law you are referring to. As per my best knowledge the leaves are applicable as per the respective Act of that State.

There is no new law to my knowledge. But please provide details that are pertinent to your question. Are you in a factory or a shop/establishment? How many people, etc.? And what exactly is your question? For a generic question like whether there is a new law, please Google, and you will get answers.

Dear Swathi,
There is no new law enforced as far as Earned Leave is concerned. The eligibility and computation of leave are already specified in the respective Acts and Rules, wherever applicable. I am referring to the Statutory Leaves which the government insists on allowing employees to enjoy. However, the Management has the discretion to grant employees leave over and above the statutory leaves. Can you please specify which new law you are referring to?

At present, the old law will prevail for Earned Leaves sanction (eligibility - 240 days work in a year - leave sanction 1 day EL for 20 days of work). A Bill introduced now in Parliament to change the criteria for EL as follows: Earlier, one should work for 240 days - now 90 days of work will be enough. The provision of 1 day for every 20 days of work will remain as it is.
Because of this amendment, if it passes in Parliament, in the future, perhaps starting from the 2015 calendar year, almost all workers will get EL. This change will be more beneficial to employees.
