Hi,
I worked for an MNC for 4.5 years and resigned in 2013. In February 2014, I applied for PF withdrawal. My PF account is under the Bengaluru office. I received an email from my previous organization in March stating that the PF form had been sent to the PF office and advised to check with the Bengaluru PF team for status. Upon checking online, it indicates that the process is ongoing. When I inquired about the status on March 13th, I was informed that the PF amount would be credited within 5-6 working days. However, the amount has not been credited yet. I followed up again in the last week of March, and they mentioned the amount would be credited in the first week of April.
When I attempted to contact them around 12:30 in the afternoon for an update, I was informed that they were on a lunch break until 3:00 pm and asked to call later. On my second attempt, I was told that the applications were down, and they couldn't provide the status. The online status still shows as "Under process."
Several of my former colleagues who requested PF withdrawal received their amounts within 2 weeks. I am curious about the typical processing time for PF withdrawals.
Regards,
Aditya

Dear Aditya,
Normally, your PF withdrawal form can be submitted to the PF office only after 2 months from the date of leaving; there is a 2-month cooling period. After the 2-month submission of the PF withdrawal form, it normally takes 60 days to settle your PF amount. So, first, check whether your PF withdrawal form has been really submitted or not. If they said it's submitted, then ask for an acknowledgment copy of the same.
Most of the time, the PF website is down or not updated. So, please be patient; it's government work. If everything is okay, then it will be done within the said time period. Sometimes, there are mistakes, errors, wrong information, or relevant information not being available, leading to more delays in settlement.
The performance of PF settlement also depends on the regional office. In Mumbai, Bandra & Thane regional offices are very famous for settling dues very fast within the timeline. It is my personal experience.
