  • Dear Ratnakar,
You must have received letter from the ESIC Dept for Interest and Damages.
According to the instructions mentioned in the letter, the challan has to be paid in the said heading.
On the website, once you log in, go to the link Recovery/Defaulter Challan and NOT omitted Wages.
In the drop down menu, you will find the list of various challan heads, like C-18(i) for Interest , D-18 for damages etc..
Select the relevant challan head and generate the challan.
Incase, you donot understand the head, you can send me the softcopy of the letter and I'll guide you.

  • But Manasi,

The way you are explaining is incorrect. When I enter the amount, it shows that the entered amount is greater than the selected amount. This is because there is no amount in C-18. However, I received a letter regarding this.

  • To pay penalty interest for ESIC, just log in to www.esic.in web portal. After logging in with your credentials, go to the link Recovery-Defaulter. You will find a drop-down option at the top left; select the 18(i) from the drop-down and click the submit button. You will then get the list of your late payment details with the total interest to be paid. Once you have this information, you can proceed with your payment option at the bottom of the screen (Offline/Online). If you have a current account with State Bank of India, you can proceed with online payment (provided you have internet banking enabled). Otherwise, you may go with offline payment, for which you need to fill out your cheque and bank details for making the offline payment.

I hope this information helps you to make your delayed (interest) payment of ESIC.

    Thanks

  • As per the new update on the ESIC portal, we can only file a return for the 42 days from the due date of the return. However, there is a technical issue, and we have not filed it. Now, when I am filing, a pop-up appears stating that you cannot file a return after 42 days from the due date, and there is no proper solution provided for this scenario. Kindly revert if anyone knows the solution for the same.
