Please let me know how a background check happens in India for a candidate who has previously worked for a small organization that doesn't maintain records of their previous employees and may not even have a website.

When the third-party company conducting the background check needs to contact the organization, how do they go about it? Specifically, who do they reach out to for information when there is no HR personnel within the small organization?
