Dear Seniors,
I wanted to discuss and take up all of your suggestions on a case of mine.
I was recruited by my current company last year in September. After completing six months, I received a pay hike and permanent status within the company.
Now, what is happening with me is that the person who was my mentor in the L&D department has resigned, and as a result, they are not conducting as many trainings.
Previously, a single person was responsible for the learning activities of a particular group, like I was. This allowed me to be fully engaged in my work.
However, they have now established a T&D department where they recruited five people to oversee the company's learning activities. Yet, they have not transferred me to that department.
At this point, I am left with no work. My performance has always been satisfactory, which is why I received a reasonable hike at the end of my probation period. I am confident that if given a new assignment, I will be able to excel. Unfortunately, there are currently no assignments available for me.
I have learned that the company is planning a budget cut (right sizing), and individuals who are not contributing significantly to the company are being handed notices.
Please shed some light on my situation and advise me on what I should do. It is urgent for me, so your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Don't be in a panic. Panic sometimes leads to desperateness, which may result in losing confidence in yourself. Job opportunities are plenty for the right people. If you have ammunition to fire, why should you worry?

Company has something for you. Otherwise, they will not keep you with them, so don't worry, just be happy and wait for work pressure. Maybe the company is giving you some rest so that you can prepare for the best.

First of all, Chill Meetu. It's okay. This is not the last company. I am not scaring you, but it is always good to be mentally prepared for the worst. Side by side, I think you should also talk to seniors. If that's not working out, try taking initiatives in others' work. Management always supports employees who take initiatives. Taking initiatives should be your trump card now.
