Dear ffmd216,

As I mentioned earlier, your new employer is requesting your PAN details solely to track whether you are a regular income tax payer for security reasons. It has nothing to do with your employment or service. Please do not panic.

Dear ffmd216,

Your PAN details may be verified only by large MNCs for your creditworthiness as it is a scale of your integrity. However, very few companies do it other than for paying your TDS into the correct account. Anyway, take a look at your Form 26AS from your online bank site and see if it is updated for the past years. It is always a good habit to keep your relieving letters, etc., in the future so that you don't have to worry about these issues.

Best of luck for the future.

Regards,
Madhu

Dear Friends,

Could anyone help me with whether her new employer will get to know her previous employer career details using income tax, PF No, Professional TAX No's? My wife resigned from XX company where she worked for 6 months and joined a new company without disclosing the details of XX company for the background check with the current employer. My question is, will the new employer find out which company she was previously working for, considering she left the previous company without any notice period and never collected the relieving letter?

Thank you very much in advance. Your thoughts on this matter will be appreciated.
