Dear Friends, Please guide me how to get an exemption for providing creche facility in a factory, there are around 45 female employees working, and only 13 are married.

I spoke to department personnel, and they advised me to apply for an exemption since the total number of married women is less than 15. It is necessary to have each employee attest to their marital status and address the declaration to the Director of Factories.

Hi there,

I also have the same problem as you. We have 100 women workers, but out of them, only 5-6 are married. Despite this, we are going to start a creche facility, which is compulsory as mentioned in section 48 of the Factories Act 1948. There are no other options available.

in amendment " Subs. by Act 94 of 1976, s. 23" it is showing 50 women instead of 30 women for creche. i will be grate full if any body clarify on it.

Recently, I received a new amendment orally stating that a creche facility must be provided if the number of women workers exceeds 50. This requirement has been increased from 30 to 50. Please confirm if anyone else has received notification of the same amendment.
