Hello sir/madam,

I am a fresher pursuing M.E with the specification of 'Applied Electronics' and B.E with the specification of 'Electronics and Communication Engineering'. I am looking for a job in the core technical area as well as in the I.T sector as a trainer. I am also interested in an H.R profession. Can anybody suggest which field I can prefer to shine well, and whether any additional courses or skills are required? I want to enter a job in any one of the above fields in the Chennai area. Please give suggestions, and let me know if there are any openings in your company; I will be thankful. I've attached my resume. Contact me at this email address (jenifer_daffeny@yahoo.co.in) and help me out if you can. Thanks and regards.

Hi Jenifer Divya,

Nice to see your maiden post in this forum. I have seen your biodata and felt impressed by your curricular and extra-curricular activities. You are an electronics technocrat through and through. Having presented papers in national and international forums and completed your post-graduation in Electronics, if you pursue a technical career in your field of specialization, you will be able to utilize your technical knowledge for the betterment of the industry and yourself. Your career will also progress rapidly, enabling you to reach senior levels within five to seven years.

HR is also a very technical profession after completing prescribed courses of study. My suggestion for you is to focus on your technical career initially to leverage all your technical knowledge and later consider studying management as well. This approach will allow you to advance further in the hierarchy.

All the best.

Hi,

I completely agree with Sundarrajan's suggestion. With your kind of academic excellence, it is imperative that you leverage your technical expertise to contribute and grow in the corporate world. After a few years, if you still believe that your heart is in HR, your hands-on experience would be the big differentiator for you to get a senior lateral opening in the HR side too.

Meanwhile, I would also suggest that you get your resume modified to make it look more professional. For example, in the last paragraph of your resume, the word 'swear' is completely jarring.

Best wishes.

Thank you very much for the suggestions, sir. It's really useful for me to concentrate on one field as I was quite confused about which one to choose. Also, thank you both for taking the time to go through my resume. Could you please suggest companies related to my technical field in the Chennai area and check if there are any current openings? If you have contacts with the HR in those companies, kindly forward my resume as I am not familiar with them.
