Dear community, My name is Swapnil and I am currently employed at an FM radio channel. As I\'m new to this field, I\'m finding it challenging to understand the process of salary calculation. Can anyone guide me on how to calculate DA (Dearness Allowance) and the applicable taxes? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice that u work for an Radio FM in Delhi or Mumbai...
Dearness Allowance is normally 50% of your Basic...as such it depends upon organisation to organisation since you are a female in your case income upto Rs. 145,000 is tax free for this financial year 2007-2008 if you are drawing more than u need to do some saving to bring down the net effect....u can save upto the tune of Rs. 1,10,000/p.a. including Medical Insurance for self and dependents.
HOpe this solve your query.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The information provided regarding Dearness Allowance (DA) and tax exemption for females is outdated. DA is not fixed at 50% of Basic, and tax exemption limits have changed since 2007-2008. Please refer to current tax laws and consult HR resources for accurate calculations.
