We are planning to give a gift to our UK-based client and his wife. This would be his last visit to India, so we thought of giving him a gift that would depict India's culture and tradition. Please provide some suggestions.

Hello Suneeta,

Focus on any handicraft - I'm sure you will find some stores near your place. Or you could check through the Net for nearby stores. I have depended on such gifts for many years and found that foreigners usually like such artifacts. That way, budget wouldn't be a problem since handicrafts are available from Rs. 10 to a few lakhs.

TS

Foreign people like Indian handicrafts, which are unique. You can gift them Sheggy carpets, which are priced per square meter. These carpets are exclusively manufactured in Bodhoi, Uttar Pradesh, India. They are handmade and have a strong presence in the international market, especially in the UK and US markets. These carpets are valued at over Rs 2000 in Indian currency. They are known for being very soft, decorative, and well-designed.

If you go to Cauvery Emporium, you will find a variety of sandalwood figurines and gift items at different price ranges. You can purchase something that depicts India, its customs, traditions, and cultures, which will be more memorable and cherished in the years to come.

Visit Gandhi Ashram and buy a few decoration items made of Khadi, i.e., hand-spun and hand-woven clothing material. Make them understand that this purchase has made a difference to the laboring community in India.
