Dear all,
Do organizations provide marriage leaves to their employees as a part of policy, like we have maternity and paternity leaves in various organizations? I was just thinking that marriage is also a precious time in someone's life. Employees take leaves for marriages; what if organizations can provide marriage leaves as well? Please share your knowledge and practices on the same if you have any.

Hi! We do provide leaves for marriage that are of 20 days, not more than that. However, those leaves are deducted from their PL; we have not termed it as marriage leave. It is a part of our policy that a person can avail 20 days of leave for marriage.

Hi Taking cognizance of the fact that all leave is a real cost to the company, we prefer employees to take annual leave when getting married. Dave

Hello all,
I will be getting married in 4 months' time (November 2013). I currently work in Pune, and my hometown is Rajasthan. I joined a new company just last month and had taken a few days off for my exams, which I had mentioned before joining. Now, the issue is that I will require a few days off again for pre-wedding preparations, for which I need to travel to my hometown. Since I have already taken leave, I am feeling hesitant to ask for more time off. How can I convince my manager? Kindly suggest.
