For developing a Policy you need to mention the Objective / Purpose behind it to start that policy, the eligibility criteria ( who is eligible), Policy and the Procedure to follow

Greetings,

This is a truly interesting discussion. We have all been to this point where we were required to form an HR Department, establish the HR processes, and draw HR policies. Here are a few discussions made earlier. Please contribute with your comments on them.

Re: How to Prepare HR Policy

Hi, Mr. Sonam,

I am a consultant of my former Company and currently preparing the HR Policies and Procedures Manual.

1. You have first to know the Company Vision, Mission, and Values of the Company as well as the KRA of HRD.
2. Prepare an outline of the Policies and Procedures, i.e. Recruitment - Interviewing Policy, Selection policy, Hiring of Relatives, Employment - Probationary, Regularization, etc.
3. Check on the government-mandated policy regarding benefits, hiring, employee relations, retirement, etc., and incorporate them into your HR Policy.
4. Choose and use the right words to convey your message effectively.
5. Search and download from the internet because some companies have uploaded their policies, and you can use them as references.

Good luck!

Hello,

These discussions remind me of the posts I had shared on this site a few months ago. I am facing the same problem in my company as there is no HR department, and I am a student in HR. I have experience in Administration and a few HR activities. I can handle employee grievances and some tasks very well. However, I struggle with framing HR policies due to a lack of HR knowledge. Unfortunately, I have not received any guidance from this site, so I am trying to navigate on my own with the help of internet resources.

I am enjoying all the discussions.
