Hiring Managers /Recruiters while conducting a GD usually pick a topic which is popular or controversial & pretty much in the news for the good reasons or bad reasons. At the same time they also pick up those topics which are quite conventional but still interesting enough to talk about even today.
One point why they pick up these kinds of topic is to assess that how much the students are in sync with the current affairs /happenings, whether they are in touch with what’s going on around their world & more importantly if they hold a opinion or view on them, can articulate their thoughts in front of someone OR they are just indifferent /neutral like many others on most of the things. There can be many other points like this.
Topics for GD can be very vivid & can have a vast range also. Best way to deal with this is to keep yourself updated in almost all the fields through newspapers, magazines, Google etc .
I am giving you a list of topics which will help you to understand a broad outline but again as I said above it is really very difficult to jot down every topic or can mention a very exhaustive list of topics of GD as the hiring person can ask views on ANY topic :-
a)Satyam Takeover by Mahindra. A wise or unwise decision
b)Should GD be a part of Campus Placement
c)Terrorism in India &steps taken to deal with it are worthy enough?
d)Women Empowerment in India: Is it actually happening.
e)Arrange Vs. Love Marriages. Which one is better?
f)Is cricket a Money Show now?
g)Will India ever become a Super Power?
h)Management is a Art or Science
i)Is higher education necessary for a good Career
j)Private Vs. Government job. Which one is better?
k)Are news channel really doing their job?
Hope this will help…………………
