Dear all,
What are your views on the above-mentioned subject? I somehow feel that the more honest you are, the more you would lose out. Am I right or wrong? Give your insights on the issue.

What are your life's goals?
If you want to earn a lot of money (I said LOT), then somewhere you cannot stick with this policy.
If your goal in life is to earn to feed yourself and your family and give them the optimum resources they need and otherwise you get satisfaction not from money but from doing your work with honesty and what you are getting, then you can be honest.
(Honesty is closely related to the people who are truly religious and who are God-fearing OR people who have firm belief in their own principles and they never do any bad deeds because their inner self doesn't permit this. Otherwise, in today's scenario, the world is full of people who can go to any extent for reaching opportunity.)
The thirst of "WANT MORE" makes a person corrupt and dishonest. :)
An honest person can also become dishonest anytime due to a number of reasons, out of topic.
So honesty is the best policy if you feel it is; otherwise, it is useless if you don't think good! :)
What are the things that you think fall under the honest and dishonest category? Is it your attitude and belief?
Some people think that getting things done with someone's approach is okay, others feel this is a bad deed and leads to dishonesty.
Suresh is an honest person; he never takes a bribe and never does any illegal things. He always respects his boss and colleagues. He also helps many people with their personal matters. But if you see his work, then you will find that he does not perform his job with enthusiasm and does not work hard.
What can you say for him?
He can be honest, but if you see that he is not working with passion as one of the guys, Sameer, in the same organization. Sameer sometimes does some cheating in his daily report; he earns some extra money by writing a fake report.
But Sameer is more productive than Suresh. The last six-month report shows that Sameer is three times more productive than Suresh and thus more profitable for the organization.
What do you think, who is dishonest with his organization? :) Please answer

Very easy to twist the story to serve your own ends...
But deep down, everybody knows that it is best to be honest because dishonesty is preached by the Devil. 😈
This seems to be something out of the Bible, right?? But are we not humans before being employees or workers?? THINK

I also agree that honesty is the best policy! Mirza Ji, Ek Gazal Yaad A gayi,
"Jhooth Waale Kahin Se Kahin Bad Gaye, aur Main Tha Ki Sach Bolta Rah Gaya" (If you Know Hindi/Urdu)
I am not molding any story. This is not my situation at all, and I am also not in any way similar to Suresh or Sameer in my story. I just think about the kind of people and the environment we see today in our daily lives. Think about this:
Human - He can have human affection for his family because his family loves him.
Human - Can his boss have human views for him and vice versa? If yes, then harmony and honesty are quite possible.
Human - Can he be human for his competitor? If yes, then very little competition.
IT IS NOT WHAT YOU ARE OR WHAT YOU DO?
"I could have said this - I am honest in my work," but one must also think about the situation, environment, the people around, and their actions. Why people are honest or dishonest... :)

Yes, I do agree. It is the best policy when a person is without any tension. I want to add in the comment that an honest person may not be working passionately. The reason may not necessarily be lack of honesty; there could be other factors such as health problems or other issues. Conversely, a person who is dishonest but works passionately may not be able to sustain that for long. In the long run, honesty proves to be the best policy.
