Hi all,
My question pertains to those who are working as HR professionals (Executives/generalists, etc.) in organizations in Dubai. I am considering pursuing a career in HR and planning to do an MBA in HR through Symbiosis, Pune, India, via distance education. However, I am a little apprehensive regarding the availability of HR jobs in Dubai for Indians. I have gathered information from various sources indicating that most organizations prefer Westerners/Arab nationals over Indians for HR roles. Is that true?
I already have experience as an administrative assistant (dealing with some HR functions, though not entirely) for almost 6-7 years (in UAE and GCC). I would like to know if this experience would be considered for HR jobs after 2 years. Can you please enlighten me with some valuable suggestions?
Thank you.

Hi there, please note that a lot of the HR positions are exclusive to Emirates/locals. However, expats still have many opportunities out there. Don't be misled, give it a try; you may never know what's out there for you.
Good luck.

I did not quite understand your statement. Could you elaborate on this, please?
Thanks to all those who replied to me. I am in a fix to decide if I would opt for Finance/HR; I have a knack for both. But as I mentioned, I have not received favorable answers from my research so far regarding whether an Indian would be preferred for an HR role without any prior HR experience. I know for sure the Finance sector gives opportunities to individuals of all nationalities and freshers in this part of the world. So, I was clearing my doubts.
