Khola has given answer to the question that the appropriate authority under the Minimum Wages Act being the State Govt. you have to verify whether your state govt. has included the call centres in the scheduled employment. If so, wages of employees working in the call centres will be available in the notification. There may be difference in the designation because it need not exactly match your designation. You can choose the matching wages and assign it to your employees.
If Call Centre is not in the schedule of employment, you can pay the minimum rates of wages applicable to the shops and commercial establishments because your call centre should be one which is registered under the State's Shops and Commercial establishments Act.
The service conditions of the employees of Call Centres are governed by the State's Shops and Commercial establishments Act. Besides this, the establishment will be covered by all other Labour Acts, like, Employees Provident Fund and Misc. provisions Act, Employees State Insurance Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Maternity benefit Act, depending upon the number of employees and place where it is set up.
