Dear Pari,
Your MD is a thorough administrator & genuine person. What do you mean by "genuine person". Is there any ungenuine person. Person is person. But administrators while dealing with "genuine" problem are dictators Genuine administrator goes by rules and regulations and he does not has sympathy with any one. Hence they are not liked by all. I think you are in his /her good books. So convey your regards in the following words:-
MY MD IS A GOOD ADMINISTRATOR AND NICE PERSON. WE WILL CERTAINLY FEEL HIS ABSENCE WITH HEAVY HEARTS.
(Say something about his behaviour towards subordinates, his creativeness and administration. Some words from his personal life and that is all)
MAY THE ALMIGHTY GOD BLESS HIM LONG AND HAPPY RETIRED LIFE.
regards

Dear Pari,

Posted a good thread. But lets get clear about the farewell speech.
We should keep certain things in mind while forming farewell speech.
1) The speech should be on the behalf on the department.
2) The speech should contain what the person has done for your dept. and the organization as a whole.
3) It should also contain instances (if any) when he has personally guided you.
4) Talk numbers :- If the person has had helped organization attain a significant position in the market mention it keeping in mind the statistics.
5) Talk in utmost affirmative way and put in positive body language.
6) Talk in the way that is emotional at certain instances.
7) Make people realize that you are gonna lose a gem of a person even though you might not feel so.
8) Mention his achievements while staying within the organization and how it has helped.
9) Finally conclude by asking MD to give a short speech which would make your work more simpler.
10) Lastly dont forget to present him a memento or a bouquet which might make him feel better.

I hope this might help us in forming the farewell speech.
