Aana, Induction Programmes are your welcome note to new employees and its effectiveness lies on the design of the programme. Orientation to company culture, workgroups, management, client, job responsibilities are key and this serves as their introduction to the company more in detail and aid in their performance as well. You could have a generic presentation created for levels, like a short video on the company and then include specific activities more related to their job function and specifications. Be sure to have a checklist created so that all essential employment related formalities are take care off along with orientation. Hope this helps.

Hi Aana, Welcome to Citehr.com! Regarding Induction Manual - Rajnish has given some valuable points and i would like to add a few points to that. 1. IM - should contain all information on leaves, working policies & do's & don'ts et all. 2. On the last page, after the employees have read the manual to sign the assent form which should be kept in the personal file of the employee. 3. On the Covering note - make sure that you get a welcome note signed by CEO or MD. 4. Most importantly, use Induction period to wow the employee as it is during the Induction period the new recruits undergo "Buyers resonance" and it needs to handled properly. Make sure they meet the CEO/MD of the company for a few minutes which would have a deep impact on them as the spirit of Induction process is very crucial for retaining the talent. Good Luck! One imporatant feature that should become a part of an Induction Program is that . . . There shoule be a 'BUDDY' assigned to the New Entrant. This buddy should be a peer whom the new entrant can contact for any small and big query ... a friend ... a guide .... This Buddy is required only for a few weeks while the new entrant is getting comfortable in the new surroundings. This one important feature takes care of any mistakes / missing elements in the actual induction program / guide ... also feedback from these buddies goes as input into continuous revision of the induction program / manual. ... shoOOonya ...
