Dear All, The management is planning to do some pay-cut and layoff as and when needed due to Covid 19. We have a pregnant employee. Can we deduct her pay or lay her off as due to Covid 19 and Maternity Benefit Act. Also she is in her 7th month of pregnancy, should a layoff happen, will we have to pay her for 6 months (maternity leave) as per he Maternity benefit act. Pls advice.
