  • The employee whose salary is more than Rs. 21,000 is liable to have ESIC deductions based on the increased threshold limit from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 21,000. In addition to raising the wage ceiling, the ESIC board also allows employees to remain members even after their wages exceed the Rs. 21,000 threshold.

  • Hi Mr. Rohit Aggarwal ji,

I believe coverage under the ESI Act is not optional. Currently, based on the gazette notification, the wage ceiling is Rs.21,000 per month. There is no provision for employees to choose to continue, as you mentioned.

I kindly request you to upload a copy of the gazette notification from the appropriate government to verify the statement you made about the ESIC board allowing employees to remain members even after their wages exceed Rs.21,000. This will help me stay informed on the matter.

    Thank you.
