Hi Lithiraj
All the best for the profile soon you are going to handle but i need to tell you that there is absolutely no need for you to get nervous, infact you should get excited that soon you will be handling a very responsible profile where not you only you are going judge the competancy of a person for a perticular job but it will also reflect yrs maturity for the position you are handling.
you can do one thing regarding this just go through some good site(through google)and sort out some important question you feel that these should be asked from a person coming for the position in question, additionally you can also ask question from the job profile reflected from his resume, just try to do some good R&D  idea and soon things will become normal and within yrs control
All the best

one can have telephonic interview or rather call it as an query for clarifying certain details in resume. Personal interviews are better as it gives a complete picture of candidate.
Still telephonic round can be carried on if there are locational hindrances .
Telephonic interview clubbed with video conferencing will be a better option.

it's not a good idea to have the telephonic interview, if you are hiring a fresher or a person with 1-2 years of experience. if you are hiring a person with more than 4 years of experience, then a telephonic interview would do. since what you are looking at is his experience, which should be clear by looking at his resume.
