Hi All,
I am working in a IT company in Pune, Maharashtra.
I have a quarry regarding leaves. If an employee (who is on probation) takes leaves from 25th March till 4th April for exams. Company has declared half day due to India-Pakistan match on 30th March, and 2nd April also. Also we have holiday on 4th April as Gudipadva. In this case, what will be the deductions.
We have policy, if paid holiday or Sunday comes in between leaves, they will be consider as leaves.
Thanks & Regards,
Suvarna

if you are getting paid for the Holidays, holidays also will be counted. (i.e paid mothly sal for 30 days). If you are getting paid for only working days (i.e 20 or 24 or 25) only the leaves that you have taken will be considered as leave.

Dear Shalini,
1) If weekly off is payable, then it should be counted in leave (in overlapping cases) e.g. monthly paid; 30 days cases, Management Staff category
2) IF weekly off is not payable, it should not be counted in leave. e.g. daily rated - monthly paid; 26 days cases (workmen)

Hi Shalini,

The policies regarding leave and holidays can vary depending on the company and the specific employment contract or labour laws in your jurisdiction.

In many organizations, when an employee is on leave, weekends and public holidays that fall within the leave period are not typically counted as part of the leave. These days are considered non-working days by default, so they don't count toward the leave balance.

For example, if an employee takes a week of leave starting from Monday, they would generally return to work the following Monday, and weekends in between would not be considered part of the leave.
Thanks

The question should be more specific.
Long leave must be on loss of pay or leave without pay. If so weekly off, all holidays intervening must be included as lwp.
Privilege leave -weekly off & holidays will not be counted for total days of leave and no salary deducted.
Casual leave and sick leave - intervening holidays included.
