Dear Satish,
Thanks for the advice. What you think about a contractual job? I am already working on roll of a ltd company . Thats really true initially when I had posted my resume for Recruiter's position a lot of call were coming , but now as I am more keen on generalist role, no. of calls almost stopped.
Whether switching over my job profile from Recruitement in which I have two years of exp.to generalist role is advicable or not?

Dear MU,
Greetings!
Swifting your career from Recruitment to Generalist will be a good one for future, Bcoz according to me recruitment can be done by any Graduate who have flair communication and 2-3 months training is enough. As a MBA graduate recruitment will suit for certain period only.
So u can try for a job.

Dear Mr. John,
Thats the only reason, y I thought of switching over my job from recruiter to generalist.
I know it will take time for me to get a job of similar nature.... but should not lose hope....righ?
If I get contractual job of same (generalist) nature, then should I go for it, although I am on roll of ltd company??
Regard,
MU

Hi Minal,
There is nothing wrong working as consultant/contractor in a company. I started working in a small firm but got an opportunity to work in one of big MNC's as contractor, intially i hesitated but it proved to be my trump card. I moved on from there and currently holding a senior position in different firm.
As consultant, you will be almost kept busy all the time. So be prepared for it and if you get an opportuniy then use it as a platform to learn new things on the job.
Yes, you can switch over to CoreHR if you are really keen in it. One more option for you would be, to get into a company in Recruitment and try to move to HR Generalist role within the company. Remember it will take lot of time and you have to prove yourself in Recruitment so that people can have trust and confidence in you.
Even if you are Recruitment, try to participate actively in all the things with HR.

Satish

Hi Minal,
Yes, it doesn't make sense to get into a Recruitment agency from a company. If you do it then you would be going few steps back rather than going forward.
What i meant was, try to get into a mid-size company in Recruitment and then move to Core HR after proving yourself in hiringin the same company. Midsize companies will provide lot of opportunities to learn and it will be perfect base for you in shifting career from Hiring to HR generalist.
