Thank you Ramesh for drawing attention of the community to this industry. How can we add- data and some real stories. Need of the hour is to work with community that can bring change. The knowledge that can not change the situation has no meaning. Let Cite HR members in one particular city know each other and spare at least one hour in a week (or 4 hrs at a stretch in a month) to work on grass roots. Let our knowledge help reduce sufferings of people who serve us. How many of us visit restaurants in our city. Get some real stories of accident that can be used as case study. If Kejariwal can start India Against Corruption why not we India Against workplace accidents?

Hello Mr Ramesh Bhardwaj,
A novel presentation.
Often we across only about the use of gas cylinders.
This is a complete safety outlook.
Like the popular saying CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME
We should also now say SAFETY BEGINS AT HOME.

Dear All
I would like to mention one of my concern here... See we are just appreciating the thread starter upon what he shared... Just finish and there not much discussions taken place on the comments put upon by the other participants... See in this thread the comments are been given by PTRC, but no one even give a comment on it... After this post there is two further postings... The same thing happened earlier also... I can bring links here, if anybody interested to have a look... My point is we should try to come up with some useful topics and all should participate in the discussion on the thread and come to a common conclusion which shall be helpful to all... If we just behind sharing what we are having only I think the purpose of this beautiful forum will get defeat... Hope all the members will take my note positively and will have a look/comment on the postings by others on the thread started by you and our fellow members... In this way we can motivate each other and surely this forum will become a great platform for knowledge sharing/gaining and fruitful discussions...
@PTRC (Jagdish Patel): Sir I am in favor of your view and it's a good thought... If you goes to hotels and restaurants you can definitely find people who are suffering and even child labours... I am based at Delhi now, and ready to spend the time as you stated if other members are positively come forward... We can fix a common place to meet and positively meet... Awaiting to hear the views of others...

We all are not experts in the particular field, Everyday we learn new things and try to bring the gained knowledge in practice and share the same with our team.
We as professionals come forward in the forum discussins so that all our team members can take the benefits.
Again I thanks Dipil Ji and Sudhir Ji and moreover the concerns of Mr. PRTC.

I am so glad that after Ramesh Bahrdwaj's post and subsequent responses, Raghu inspired Dipil to initiate new thread. Dipil immediately acted up on and introduced the thread. We all are concerned about the working people in hotel & restaurant workers in this thread.
S& H of worker scan be ensured by 1. Workers themselves to some extent and has lot of limitations. They can be trained and made aware on what need to be done through pamphlets etc (formal and informal methods and routes) 2. Owners who have a major responsibility. They also may be approached by civil society groups offering them technical help as thy may need. 3. Government also has a responsibility by drafting policy, collect data-publish and analyze them for further refinement on policy or laws, enacting laws, enforce them, prosecute violators and create conducive social environment.
We have no law at the moment giving legal protection to the hotel and restaurant workers S & H at work. Even without law workers can be protected but if law is there it becomes mandatory and make a great difference.
For any campaign we would need some good case studies to start with and I invite one and all to share their experiences.
