Hi Srinivas,
I feel the answer is in your question itself, as you are presently handling non IT you want to enter into IT requirements.
I am not joking its a good valid & genuine reason to go with, apart from this you can say since the IT is the current scene in the Industry, would like to grow with the present trend.
pls let me know your comment will try to help you more.

Dear Srinivas,
as there is no specific /discreet answer for this question ...
it purely depends on the context &circumstances...
As Sri righlty said on preassumption ur question itself has the answer...
Frm recuriter of a consulting firm ,u want to move to IT side(client side) for gaining more career insight ...there u may have chance to looking different portfolio...not jus recruitment ...
ur avenue is growing if u make this move...so derive answer for ur question ....

Dear Vasu,
It depends on the way you carry out your self, Specific questions like what you are asking Should be embarked in a very natural way, such that eventhough you speak something ineffective it cannot be traced that easily,
Coming to your point, you can tell them that worked perfectly on Non IT looking for a change to prove my self in IT, I can make good core judgement to the profession. talk more achievements you could manage in your Non IT link the same with your current requirement, & so on.....

HI Srinivas
I am into recrutiments ans according to me the way you can frame your answer -
Tell u r currently handling Non-IT recruitments from past x no. of years. after gaining some amount of experience into this sector now you would like to explore IT as another sector as it would be a add on to your learning curve. also if u r a BE (comp) then u can link this answer to your qlfns as well.

Dear,,

This is a common question "Why yoy are looking for change"

Listen dear Never badmouth your previous industry, company, board, boss, staff, employees or customers. This rule is inviolable: never be negative. Any mud you hurl will only soil your suit.

Especially avoid words like “personality clash”, “didn’t get along”, or others which cast a shadow on your competence, integrity, or temperament.

BEST ANSWER:

(If you have a job presently)

If you’re not yet 100% committed to leaving your present post, don’t be afraid to say so. Since you have a job, you are in a stronger position than someone who does not. But don’t be coy either. State honestly what you’d be hoping to find in a new spot. Of course, as stated often before, you answer will all the stronger if you have already uncovered what this position is all about and you match your desires to it.

(If you do not presently have a job.)

Never lie about having been fired. It’s unethical – and too easily checked. But do try to deflect the reason from you personally. If your firing was the result of a takeover, merger, division wide layoff, etc., so much the better.

But you should also do something totally unnatural that will demonstrate consummate professionalism. Even if it hurts , describe your own firing – candidly, succinctly and without a trace of bitterness – from the company’s point-of-view, indicating that you could understand why it happened and you might have made the same decision yourself.

Your stature will rise immensely and, most important of all, you will show you are healed from the wounds inflicted by the firing. You will enhance your image as first-class management material and stand head and shoulders above the legions of firing victims who, at the slightest provocation, zip open their shirts to expose their battle scars and decry the unfairness of it all.

For all prior positions:

Make sure you’ve prepared a brief reason for leaving. Best reasons: more money, opportunity, responsibility& growrh,,,,

Ok,,,,bye

Hi ,
It is good reason that ur looking for change as you want to grow in IT ,you can out it in this way as u have worked in Non IT Sector , u can tell them the difference and challenges doing recruitment in IT and Non IT .
To make a offer and make an software engineer join is a night mare as the markets are very hot and resource have a upperhand which u may not exprience in Non IT more .

Hi Srinivas,
When you answer these open ended questions, keep in mine that interviewer is not interested in what you are saying but why and how you are saying this...are you confident or just answering for the sake of providing some answer...be original...be practical...they want to check your conviction...there is no right or wrong answer for these questions...you can use the tips provided by other members.
Warmly,
Shashank

Dear Srinivas,
The answer for your question is contingent on the context and circumstances.
You can say that IT-Recruitments give good incentives, as the CTC of the IT-professionals is higher. and can also add that lot of IT jobs are paving way to India and its the time to be a part of IT.
If you are attending an interview for IT-Recruitments, you say the above, if it is for Non-IT, say you are looking for a better income, growth prospects and change of environment.
It all depends on you how you convince the interviewer, give a reasonable answer whatever you feel as good.
all the best.
Regards,
Visu.
