I would like to know some information on HRIS. Iam currently working as Recruiter & totally new to HRIS. Would request you to throw some light on this. And also please suggest on how a person go about pursuing this as a career.

HRIS is the Human Resource Information System. It is a online system which take cares of Leaves, Attendance, Travel etc.
Each employee has its username had login through which he can enter his leaves, travel etc.
The HRIS system helps in reducing paper work. At the end of the month a report is generated from the HRIS for leave, travel etc. which is used by HR dept. for salary purpose. Hris also has whole data of employees which can be taken out at any point of time by running reports.

Regarding a career in HRIS ... You can enter into either its Sales/presales or functional consultant profile.
with a background of recruiter, I think best suited would be a functional consultant profile
