Dear HR fraternity friends, Department of Labour, Central, Government of India, has released draft rules 2020, notification, for Industrial Relations Code and OSH working conditions, inviting suggestions, objections from employers, trade unions, industries associations etc. I am herewith enclosing draft notification for your information.

Rules for Industrial Relations Code and OSH and Working Conditions are in the draft.

The Rules for the Industrial Relations Code are a new set of rules that would replace the current rules with a single set of rules for all employers. The rules would also include provisions for an independent workplace ombudsman. The proposed rules will be introduced to Cabinet on May 7, and a public consultation period is scheduled to end July 6, 2019. The Rules for the Industrial Relations Code would also include provisions for a new Occupational Safety and Health Act that would create a single set of rules for the health and safety of workers.
