Please guide if Separation Policy and Disciplinary Action Policy should be shared with employees?
It has been drafted for the company recently but Senior Management is not willing to share the same formally.
As per my opinion it has to be shared with the employee to know rules and regulations.
Also please advise what is the right time to verbally made employees aware about the same as formal communication is avoided except informed through appointment letter.

There is no value in keeping vital personnel policies hidden from employees.
Making things verbally known to employees is not adequate.
A person is guided by his appointment letter and if subsequent changes are made detrimental to employee ,they should be given full awareness of change.
Employment is a mutual contract and not a unilateral contract/decision.

Hi,
Any policy changes are usually updated in HR portals in large companies. It should apply to your org also. If your company is small-medium sized org, HR should circulate revised policy to all employees concerned.

An employer should keep the terms of appointment and other details related to service transparent. What is the need to hide it from the employees? Regards Rahul

Dear Friend,
Policies are made for the employees to follow, if they are not shared with them, how you expect them to follow. Not only the policies you have mentioned above but all the policies company has made which directly or indirectly affects the employee either immediately or in the long run.
