G.S.R 591(E).-
1) These rules shall be called the Employees State Insurance (Central) (1st Amendment Rules), 2006
2) They shall come into force with effect from 1st October 2006
3) In Employees State Insurance (Central) Rules : -
(a) In Rule 50 and its proviso the words seven thousand five hundred shall be substituted by the words ten thousand
(b)
(i) In Rule 54, in the table against serial number 32, the words and figures "Rs 280 and above" shall be substituted with the words and figures "Rs 280 and above but below Rs 290"
(ii) After serial number 32 and entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted namely:-
33 Rs 290 and above but below Rs 300 150
34 Rs 300 and above but below Rs 310 155
35 Rs 310 and above but below Rs 320 160
36 Rs 320 and above but below Rs 330 165
37 Rs 330 and above but below Rs 340 170
38 Rs 340 and above but below Rs 350 175
39 Rs 350 and above but below Rs 360 180
40 Rs 360 and above but below Rs 370 185
41 Rs 370 and above but below Rs 380 190
42 Rs 380 and above 195

Rule 50: Wage limit for coverage of employee under the Act
The wage limit for coverage of an employee under sub-clause (b) of clause (9) of Section 2 of the Act shall be seven thousand and five hundred rupees a month:
Provided that an employee whose wages (excluding remuneration for overtime work) exceed seven thousand and five hundred ten thousand rupees a month at any time after and not before the beginning of the contribution period, shall continue to be an employee until the end of that period .
Rule 54: Daily rate of benefit
Daily rate of benefit (hereinafter referred to as the "Standard benefit rate", in respect of group of employees specified in the first column of the table below shall be amount respectively specified in the corresponding entry in the second column thereof.
