Dear Seniors,
Please help me to resolve my problem.
Recently we have appointed a CEO for one of our SBU's. As soon as he joined us, he mentioned that the appointment letter issued to him should state him as confirmed employees (On questioning him, his reply for :- If I am not a confirmed employee of this organisation then how do you expect to make management decisions)
Now, he is a confirmed employee from day 1. So how do we credit his leaves. Incase of Privliage leaves - it needs to be earned. What do I do & how much leaves should he be entitled.
Regards,
Deepa

Dear Deepa,
we work for 30 days then we get the salary of that month, no where in the world or any goverment department gives salary without working so it is also same for the earned leave.
Rules are rules and is same for everyone.

Dear Deepa,
For query on Leave; should refer to HR manual and act accordingly.
See what your leave policy is for confirmed employee. No matter about hierarchy he/she will be governed by policy of the company (some exception on the ground of special approval)

Dear Deepa, you can divide the AL/PL/EL by 12 and will get p.m. AL which is the limit for ceo and if he will not take any leave it should be added to next month leave and so on. Regards Sanjeev

Dear Deepa,

As the new CEO of the Company, leave should be the farthest thing on his mind.

Well, the Leave Policy of the Company shall apply to him as well and you can process his leave record along the stated guideliness in your Co.'s leave Policy.

Best Wishes,

Vasant Nair

As a CEO, the employee is entitled to leaves from day 1. Senior employees of the organization should be confirmed employees from day 1.
You can credit him leaves as per the leave policy for confirmed employees.

Dear Deepa
The general rule followed for Privilege leave is , for every 12.5 days of working , you get 1 day PL. Means that 2.5 days a month you earn leave. This accounts 30 days a year which is credited to his account on the 1st of Jan -15 days and on the 1st July 15 days
