sir,
Working hours: According to sec.54 of Factorise Act, 1948 an adult worker is not required to work more than 9 hour and sec.51 prohibits working for more than 48 hours a week.
Working during night: Sec.66 Factories Act,1948, prohibits working women from 7PM to 6 AM. However the State Government may, by notification exempt any establishment subject to the condition that the establishment provides facilities of transportation and security to such women employees
not only in HDFC but across the india no women sell allowed to work after 7pm means 6 am to 7 pm only. and not more then 48 hours a week.
i think it is solved.

Dear Deeraj,
First of all, HDFC or any other bank does not covered under Factories Act, 1948. It will get covered under Shops & Establishment Act.
Moreover it provided than no establishment shall on any day be opened earlier than 8.30 am and closed later than 9.30 pm. (Sec. 13)
It also provided that no employee shall be required or allowed to work in any shop or commercial establishment for more than nine hours in any day and forty-eight hours in any week. (Sec.14)
The spread over of the an employee in a commercial establishment shall not exceed eleven hours in any day (Sec.17)
It also provide that No woman shall be required or allowed to work in any establishment after 9.30 pm (Sec. 33 (3))

Usually it is 10 hours a day including lunch and recreations. You may approach a consumer forum and file a complaint in any case.....
RBI has a special provision for consumer complaints against the banks you may file in there too...... ( ; Consumer Complaint in Consumer Forum in India ; <link outdated-removed> ( Search On Cite | Search On Google ) ; bank employee association, chief labour commissioner ; you own bank website may be having a provision for complaints )
(Personally speaking, Many have complained on consumer forum against HDFC saying they are tortured and made to work for 12 hours 14 hours a day!! working conditions .....)

Since HDFC is the service sector , it is covered under S&E Act of particular state concerned , As per the latest guidelines by the Hon ble supreme court that any women employee working during night shifts and after 8pm, company should be provided transportation and security to her residence and also provided secured working atmosphere at work place.

Mr. Dheeraj,
Instead of posting an academic type of generic query, it would have been better had you mentioned the real problem if and of what exact type of problem the women employees or any individual employee of HDFC Bank would have been facing, and also how you are concerned with the problem, as naturally, not being a female employee, that does not seem to be your personal problem. Without mention of any specific type of problem, as you would have seen from replies, you can fetch replies merely on the basis of different types of presumptions of the members, which can only confuse you rather than getting a specific solution to the exact nature of problem that the women employees or any individual employee of the HDFC Bank would have been made to face.
