Hi Prachi,
How r u?As per your duty hours are concerned,it extends upto 9 hrs.So it must have 1hr Break fater 4 hrs of working. It means normal working hours in a day is 8 if there is 6 days week.
As per Factories Act-
1. There must not be more than 48 hrs of work in a week so you can calculate it and mark the persons whose working hrs in a week extend beyond that.
2. There must be a break of at least half an hour after 4 hrs of continuous work.
So what you can do is that you calculate the exceeding hrs of work for each individual and allot them compensatory leave instead of giving them off on saturday.Employees would also be happy with that since they can use these leaves as per their wish. Also it will not affect the work since most of them would use leave on different days of the month or would use it on special occasions.
The criterion for allowing compensatory leave can be such as-
1. No leave for upto 4 hrs of excess work.
2. Half day leave for 4 hrs to 7 hrs of excess work.
3. 1 leave for more than 8 hrs of excess work.
These leaves can be accmulated upto max. 10.
Hope this is going to help you.
