I got selected in Cognizant on January 20, 2018. I have an experience of 3+ years. In February , I got offer letter from cognizant and my expected date of joining was 26th March. So I had resigned from my previous employer. But unfortunately background verification was not done as I was not able to provide form 16. Then hr had asked me to provide bank statements as form 16 was not available. I did that and waited for 8 working days then they replied me that background verification is negative. Hr had asked me to provide form 16. I provided it on last Monday and still my background verification is not done. Now currently I am sitting at home and waiting for their reply. Which I feel is quite unfair. I am not earning money. I have some responsibilities. I think cognizant should ask selected candidates to resign only when background verification is done. Now I am not sure if my background verification will be positive or not. I don't have any job in hand and I am just sitting at home since last one month. I have started to apply for a new job but I really had to go through so much mental stress due to all this. How much more time will it take for background verification?
