Hi, Whether to accommodate you or not will be the discretion of your employer. You need to apply and check.
What is your nature of work? You claim you had lost your left hand in the accident so will you be able to discharge your duties normally as before?. Your ex-employer will analyze these factors before hire you.

Dear Friend,
Someone met with an accident at work place while performing the job doesn't affect the employment. The rejoining in employment by someone met with an accident and loss left hand is purely depends upon the decission of the employer but not by the choice of employee.
The employer can give joining, provided employer is capable of perfoming the job effectively or any job that match with the competency & the similiar job should be existing in the company.
If the employee's accident is at work place, the company will pay compensation and can offer employment opportunities to keen of the emploee.

Your accident was a year ago.
So you have not been working for a year?

How did the company deal with the matter?
Have they terminated your services or are they paying you salary / compensation though you did not report to work.

There is no legal restriction on you working again for the same company.
But it is difficult to give a better answer without some additional details on the above points.

Any suggestion depends upon as to whether you have ceased to be in employment because of retirement on medical grounds or resignation consequent to the accident. In other words, does the employer-employee relationship still subsist?

Hi friend,
(Subject to the confirmation whether the accident occurred 'in the course of employment' or otherwise) How is that you are raising this question after one year? I could presume you would have recovered from out of the medical procedures during this one year. If so how this one year was treated in your service by your office is not known. Presumably for a part of this period you should have been on paid leave either EL/PL or Sick/medical leave, loss of pay leave and/or combination of all the three. And all put together, appx.6 months period could have been on leave. Of course subject to the fact you applied for leave and granted subject to your eligibility. If so the other part of 6 months possibly 'leave without pay' and your service could be 'continuous'. In case, your handicap will not hamper your efficiency of discharging your duty you'll have better chance of requesting reinstatement. Much would depend on how much you are medically fit to discharge your duties. Even otherwise your office can consider your case on 'compassionate' grounds.
