I was interviewed by a leading organization in the cement sector late last month. The interview was overwhelmingly appreciated by the panel and on the same day, I was given a booklet containing all personal and professional data to be filled up. I submitted it along with my payslips of last three months as well as photographs. The Lead Hr Talent Acquisition called up a couple of days later confirming my offer verbally, he negotiated on the salary and asked me to wait for 2 weeks for approval of my offer prior which they would offer me. Its already been 3 weeks and I am yet to receive the offer. I had called the HR once last week , he said the offer is pending for approval and would be sent as soon as possible. What should I do? Is there anything to worry?

They may be doing back ground checks. What is level of job-position? Be in touch with Hr Talent acquisition and wait. There is nothing much which can be done. Some companies take time to finalise.

The position is of senior executive sales. Don’t really know what is the actual reason of delay. As to how long i must hope for the job.

It is a matter of worriness as thing is being getting delayed. There is nothing in your hand than to wait, it happens a many times. You need to discuss with the HR and ask them to be proactive in the matter as you have already put resignation from the present job upon their clarification.

You no need to worry as per your details everything initiated was smooth i hope. you can still followup with HR this week to know the updated status, also ask still after how many days can i expect my offer. This would clear your doubts.

I think it's better to confirm by HR department, but remember one thing it should be very politely manner to ask the matter regarding delayed of offer letter. One another thing is that many times organisation keeping in waiting list for the employee. Nothing to worry about it, keep in touch with HR Department.

Though it is likely that the company is still trying to send the offer letter, it will also help if you do not keep waiting forever. Did you resign from the present employment or serve notice? You may politely inform the new company that unless you have the offer in hand, you may not be able to serve notice to the present company [ which is practical, than jumping the gun]. Instead of assuming things, it is better to keep the present job and also try elsewhere in the meantime. This is not to discourage you but to see that you take it as it comes.
