What exactly do we have to include in an HR report? My boss wants me to determine the specific details I should provide. The company does not have any predefined formats; they expect me to introduce everything. Could someone assist me in providing some sample formats? What specific details should the HR department provide to the Company on a monthly basis?

Hi,

You will have to devise your own format. You can include the following:
Employees on the roll as on--
New induction during the month
Separation from service
Average absenteeism
Any major incidents like a strike or industrial relations matter
Any major accidents
Any inspection or report from Government Authorities
Any agreement, settlement, award, or court decision
Any major activity relating to employee welfare
Status of the functioning of Joint committees if any
etc., etc.

These are just a few suggestions for your consideration.

Hi,

HR report should contain:
- Attrition report
- New joiner report
- HR budget
- HR statutory and compliance report (ESIC/PF, etc.)
- Manpower planning
- Report on policy and its functioning, or requirement of a new policy
- Report on complaints addressed to HR and the actions taken
- If HR is handling IR issues from corporate, also include what CRISIL has already mentioned
- Then report on people who are eligible for promotions/disciplinary action taken and rewards and punishments provided
- Any/all employee surveys taken
- Employee engagement activity report

I hope this would be enough for the time being.
