Hello Members,
I have recently started using this platform and so amazed to see the knowledge all share here.
I have been doing employee engagement and team building activities for a few years now. Which includes team building games, outings, group discussions, mix and mingle with other teams, traditional classroom training. Looking for some new ideas how can I make it better.
I would be grateful if anyone would share some ideas on employee engagement and team building activities.
Thanks,
Mansi

Dear Mansi,
You have written "I have been doing employee engagement and team building activities for a few years now."
If you have been conducting the team-building activities for a few years then the members of this forum deserve to be enlightened on how you measure the effectiveness of those activities. What was the productivity of the team members before a few years and what is productivity now? Because of the teamwork, was there a reduction in operational cost or turnaround time of some processes? Would you mind sharing these details?
Even if you get the suggestions from other members will those team-building games or engagement activities be different? Access to Google is the same to everybody.
Lastly about employee engagement. There are several types of employee engagement intellectual, mental, physical, emotional etc. One of the most difficult to build is intellectual engagement. Can workplace games build intellectual engagement? Have you thought about this?
You may find that my views are radically different but then this topic comes for discussion after every 5-6 months. Each time, a member shoots a query while firmly rooted in their regime of the notions and so is this one more query!
Thanks,

Hello Dinesh,
I Appreciate the views you have.
I had started these activities 4 years ago. We have been playing games, making the environment lite with some random topic discussions, sip a tea together, play communication-related games, going out on a picnic, celebrating festivals together.
I have witnessed a huge difference in productivity and employees willingness towards work. We have reduced employee turnover by this. We have a 90% retention ratio after we started doing this. Proactiveness has improved. We have witnessed zero politics environment. We started the movement called "I am my own hero" where they themselves make skill development targets for self, and we help them achieve that with motivation, training (on the job or paid), etc.
It's a human nature that they look for something different every time. Google, of course, will flood me with ideas but I was looking for something which is already implemented and tested.
Thank,
Mansi
